Lichtkunst verwendet Licht als Medium. Licht das leuchtet, auch in verschiedenen Farben und das seine Umgebung beleuchtet und mit der Beleuchtung auch Schatten wirft. So wird die beleuchtete Umgebung in das Kunstwerk mit einbezogen. Lichtkunstobjekte verwenden häufig Zeichen, Symbole oder Schrift. Damit werden sie zum Träger von Informationen und machen inhaltliche Aussagen. Es entsteht eine Nähe zur Leuchtreklame, die oft absichtlich herbeigeführt wird. Obwohl technischer Natur, sind Lichtkunstobjekte keine Gebrauchsgegenstände. Sie erschöpfen sich nicht in ihrer Funktion, sondern verweisen über das rein Technische hinaus.
Die Galerie ist samstags von 16.00 bis 18.00 Uhr, sonntags von 11.00 bis 13.00 Uhr und nach Absprache geöffnet.
